The IBA phase II project aimed to promote, in a more concrete way, the richness and importance of the Sept-Îles Important Bird Area (IBA), and to promote the conservation of essential habitats for avian fauna. The method chosen to achieve these goals is to develop activities and tools aimed at raising the awareness of decision makers, the local population and visitors. The project consisted of two components, an awareness-raising component and an enhancement component. These components were divided into two main activities: I- the Decision-makers Day and II- the Bird Route. The first activity aimed to raise awareness among local political and economic actors, while the second consisted in promoting the Sept-Îles IBA for the general population. The project was completed in June 2013.
