Active Acoustic data in the Labrador Sea and Canadian Arctic (2017-2024)
The dataset is composed of raw files (.raw) recorded with a SIMRAD EK60 (updated to EK80 in 2020) three-frequency (38, 120, 200 kHz) split-beam echosounder that was operated continuously during the ArcticNet cruise aboard the CCGS Amundsen from 2017 to 2023. To ground-truth the hydroacoustic signal, various sampling techniques were applied throughout the cruise track such as midwater and bottom trawling as well as plankton net deployments. Note: No data was collected from the Arctic during 2020 since there was restricted access due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
