LAser WAve Slope (LAWAS) laser profiling data

The laser profiling instrument is mounted on the front deck of the Amundsen icebreaker on the port side. The instrument has four lasers that emit laser radiation of 900nm at regular intervals. The LAWAS profiler has been used during the transit to acquire data over various types of ice and surfaces. The data is a binary data file which can be read using a code. The profiler also has a motion pack which measures the acceleration in x, y and z direction. Five files are created from each observation, four files from each of four lasers and one file from motion pack.
