Arctic Expedition Aboard the CCGS Amundsen (2025)

The 2025 expedition report is a collection of all the participating research teams' cruise reports assembled by the Chief Scientists at the end of each Leg of the 2025 CCGS Amundsen Expedition. The expedition report is divided into three parts:

Part I gives an overview of the expedition and resulting data availability, presents the cruise track and the stations visited, and provides a synopsis of operations conducted during each of the legs.

Part II contains the reports submitted by participating science teams or researchers, with details on the specific objectives of their project, the field operations conducted, the methodology used, and in some cases, preliminary results. When results are presented, they show the data as they were submitted at the end of the legs in 2025. The data presented in this report are illustrative only and have not been quality checked or reviewed, thus parties interested in the results should contact the project leader, the researchers who collected the data or Amundsen Science’s Data Coordinator (amundsen.data@as.ulaval.ca). The sections in Part II provide a detailed description of each research program and the sampling teams on board. Specifically, Sections 1 and 2 discuss wildlife and atmospheric conditions. Sections 2 to 18 provide comprehensive information on water column characteristics, CTD-Rosette operations, physical properties, as well as a range of chemical and biological parameters. Sections 19 to 33 focus on benthos, sediment and seabed mapping including ROV activities. Sections 34 to 42 delve into ice properties, mooring operations and other multidisciplinary projects.

Finally, a short conclusion is presented in Part III, and four appendices provide information about the location, date, time and type of sampling performed at each station visited by the ship, as well as a list of science participants onboard during each Leg.
