S2Shores Global Coastal Bathymetry

The Satellite-to-Shores (S2hores) Toolbox is a new Python library designed for bathymetry inversion using wave characteristics. This library was employed to produce a global coastal bathymetry dataset based on Sentinel-2 Level-1C images and the GEBCO 2020 bathymetry (https://www.gebco.net) at 1-km spatial resolution.

The S2Shores nearshore bathymatry dataset was co-generated by CNES and LEGOS teams, with support from CNES High Performance Computing resources (over 2.6 million Sentinel-2 Level-1C images were processed, limited to scenes with less than 10% cloud cover and with at least 10% of pixels within 50-km of coastline).

Note that the S2Shores dataset is not intended for navigation or nautical charting purposes.
