Posidonia Monitoring Network for the PACA Region (RSP PACA)

Monitoring data for the state of upper and lower limitations of the posidonia seagrass meadows in the PACA region, by buoyage (24 monitoring points, then 33 since 1994) from 1984 to 2003.

In the PACA region, the posidonia meadow is a powerful integrator of water quality: being widespread and sensitive to disturbances related to human activity, its presence is an indicator of water quality and life. This is also true of its regression, characterised by dead clumps of seagrass over long periods (years). Posidonia seagrass is a source of food, a habitat, a shelter, a spawning ground and a nursery for many species of flora and fauna.
