Program to monitor water quality in the Rivière-du-Nord watershed

The OBV Rivière-du-Nord River Water Quality Monitoring Program was established in 2010 following a roundtable meeting that identified a lack of knowledge concerning the quality of water in the Rivière-du-Nord and its main tributaries. This program makes it possible to acquire rigorous scientific data in order to draw up a global portrait of water quality, among other things, from a public health perspective. For more than 10 years, the program has been constantly evolving in order to meet the needs of the environment and to better understand the impacts of land use on the quality of watercourses. Thanks to partnerships (community, municipal, economic, governmental) that have been developed over the years, the number of sampling points has multiplied, making it possible today to draw up a global portrait of water quality.
