Lac du Flambeau Smart Mooring in northern Wisconsin Lake
<p>The Lac du Flambeau Tribal Natural Resources Department and its Wild Rice Program, obtained funding through a Great Lakes Observing System (GLOS) grant to provide real- time sensors for monitoring water levels and other water quality parameters within the Lac du Flambeau Reservation 10 lake chain of lakes.</p><p>The data obtained will enable LDF TNR staff to make necessary water quality management decisions. In addition, the information collected will be added into the overall Tribal Water Quality Platforms. The Real-time buoys sensors will play an integrated role in our on-going efforts in designing a Tribal Dashboard that anybody can use.</p><p>This project will provide information that will enhance a deeper conservation conversation with stakeholders, through our local Lakes associations and other partners in monitoring lake health.</p><p>This project will support the goals of the Tribe and strengthen partnership with our local and regional stakeholders working to address local and regional water Quality problems.</p>
