Integrated hull-mounted acoustic data 38 kHz MFRI cruise A8-2009
The dataset contains integrated values of total and mesopelagic backscatter for an EK60 38 kHz echosounder, from ~25 to 1000 m depth, collected during June/July 2009 during an Icelandic cruise aimed at mapping beaked pelagic redfish in an international redfish cruise in the Irminger Sea and adjacent waters. Mesopelagic acoustic backscatter defined in LSSS (200-1000m) at 38 kHz were stored as Nautical Area Scattering Coefficient Values (NASC) with a -82 dB lower threshold in 0.1 nmi resolution.
